Okavango Delta Mobile Expedition

Botswana is home to more wildlife species than anywhere else on the continent. Witnessing the majestic animals of the Okavango Delta – the beautiful birdlife, languishing hippos and regal lions – out in their natural habitat is an opportunity like no other, and one that you wouldn’t want to have to tear your eyes from. So why should you? On this mobile safari expedition, there are no lodges. Instead, you will have the unique chance to live on a safari expedition. Spend your days making the most out of your time here, without the need to stop. Boat up to herds made up of hundreds of elephants, travel across floodplains in a custom 4×4 and search for all manner of game, and spend your nights sleeping under the stars, surrounded by nature in the heart of Botswana.

Chobe Safari Lodge

Chobe Safari Lodge rests on the banks of the mighty Chobe River, and shares a border with the wildlife-rich Chobe National Park. Gaze across the beautiful water from the comfort of a pool-side lounger, and watch the lodge’s resident monkeys as they scurry around and climb up the trees. Chobe Safari Lodge offers guests a range of fun activities including game drives, river cruises, and the lodge’s proximity to Victoria Falls offers the perfect opportunity to take a day trip and watch the cascading water as it pours down, kicking up foam and froth. After a day of exploring and immersing yourself in Botswana’s stunning natural world, sit back and relax at one of the lodge’s two bars, one of which overlooks the Caprivi flood plains and the other witnesses the most spectacular sunsets.

Muchenje Safari Lodge

Resting high on an escarpment, Muchenje Safari Lodge rests within the Chobe Forest Reserve, on the quieter western side of Chobe National Park. There are no fences or boundaries between the park and reserve, meaning that the wildlife can roam freely, and guests can enjoy amazing viewing opportunities from the comfort of their own private cottage. The thatched chalets overlook the Chobe River and its beautiful floodplains, where you may see Chobe’s famous elephant herds drinking from the water. Sit out on your private balcony and enjoy the sweeping landscape from a bird’s eye view.

River View Lodge

River View Lodge rests on the banks of the Chobe River, overlooking its tranquil waters and vast floodplains. On the lodge’s sunny swimming pool deck, guests can enjoy river views from the comfort of sunloungers with a refreshing beverage from the lodge’s bar. Listen to the singing of Chobe’s prolific birdlife, and look out for elephants, buffalo and antelope who flock to the riverside in herds to drink and bathe. With just 11 comfortable chalets dotted amongst the beautiful riverbank gardens, guests can enjoy a private and peaceful safari experience on the doorstep of the Chobe National Park.

Duba Explorers Camp

In the northeast corner of the Duba Plains Concession, separated from the rest of the world by two gum pole bridges, lies the secluded Duba Explorers Camp. The camp is far from any local communities, giving guests a truly private escape to the Okavango Delta. Duba Explorers Camp is located on an island, guarded by mighty jackalberry and mangosteen trees that hold off the African sun and provide year-round shade. Guests can enjoy the comfort of the camp, whilst looking out at the stunning floodplains and grasslands from their private verandah, or listen to the honks and snorts of hippos from the restful lounge.

Khwai Bush Camp

Resting on the banks of the Khwai River, under a canopy of sycamore and leadwood trees, lies Khwai Bush Camp. The camp is located on the edge of the Moremi Game Reserve, offering sweeping views of the Okavango Delta and the unique landscape that surrounds it. Sit back with your loved ones on your personal verandah and watch for parades of elephants, buffalo and giraffe across the horizon. Listen out for the roar of a lion, or snorting hippos from the comfort of this picturesque and quaint setting. Khwai Bush Camp is perfect for both individual travellers – hoping to immerse themselves out on the plains, lush grasslands or waterways of the delta – and for families, and has a range of dedicated children’s activities available, including nature walks and cultural arts.

The 12 Meru-style tents face out over the sweeping landscape, which entirely transforms depending on the season.
