Cloud Nine Boutique Hotel

A relaxing Cape Town inner-city hotel and spa nestled at the foot of Table Mountain, Cloud Nine provides an enriching and holistic wellness experience, allowing you to heal your mind and body in the embrace of the lush weather of South Africa. Cloud Nine Boutique Hotel markets itself stylistically as ‘heritage meeting luxury’. Etienne Hanekom of Etienne Hanekom Designs, one of the designers for the hotel’s recent renovations, described the boutique as an attempt to create ‘a more local look & feel with vibrant colours from Bo-Kaap and illustrated scenes of the Atlantic seaboard by local artist Lucie de Moyencourt’.
It is built upon four separate older heritage properties, joining them together to create a blend of traditional and vintage design with something modern and cool. Primarily, it is built upon the Leeuwenvoet guest house, merging that with three older neighbouring buildings as well. As a boutique hotel, Cloud Nine places a huge amount of emphasis on visual and aesthetic embellishment. As such, much of the fine art and design collected and implemented throughout is worth taking in. At times, the line between museum and hotel becomes blurred, which only helps to make this hotel stand out as the choice of artists, directors, entrepreneurs. Anyone with an inventive or creative spirit is naturally most likely to be drawn to this establishment.
