Deka Camp

Deka Camp is an exclusive safari camp situated in the far northwest of Hwange National Park, resting on top of the low foothills which offer spectacular vistas as far as the eye can see. Arguably the most remote camp in the region, the chances of running into other guests is slim as you explore the wilderness in search of meandering plains game, with the likes of elephant, buffalo, sable, roan, giraffe, wildebeest, impala and even gemsbok readily awaiting adventurous eyes. The private concession allows for around the clock game drives, ushering new experiences after dark. The small camp consists of eight units, made of thatch, local rock and canvas. Ideal for taking the whole camp for groups, facilitating intimate adventures away from the crowds. The style of the camp is local rock and canvas walls with thatch roofs, featuring hot and cold running water, flush toilets, comfortable beds with first class linen and extensive patio views. The camp is designed to blend with the environment and the style compliments this.

Ibo Island Lodge

Ibo Island lies in the Quirimbas Archipelago of northern Mozambique. Nominated for World Heritage status Ibo has been described as one of the most unique and atmospheric islands in the world. Located on the prime waterfront site where romantic dhows sail out to sea on each high tide, Ibo Island lodge encompasses magnificent mansions each over one hundred years old. Coral and lime walls over a meter thick, high lofty ceilings and original beams. Ibo Island is a potential World Heritage Site, and therefore rooms have been designed to incorporate the architecture and style of the original ruins. The lodge accommodates guests in beautifully elegant, yet simple rooms, with indigenous solid teak and mahogany furniture, handcrafted by the people of Ibo. All nine bedrooms are individual and feature a king size 4 poster, or twin hand crafted bed with crisp cotton linen and Indian silk throws. Wide verandas are a traditional feature of all Ibo mansions, but we widened ours considerably to house comfortable plantation style chairs with soft cushions. For all its tranquillity and ambience Ibo Island Lodge also offers a diverse range of activities and experiences to keep the most diverse interests occupied.

Matusadona Luxury Houseboat

Matusadona has been described as “an intimate luxury lodge on the water”. With a length of 28.6 meters, a beam of 6.85, powered by two reliable 420 hp diesel motors, Matusadona is made up of three elegantly furnished decks with hardwood finishes and rich, classic fabrics. The lower accommodation deck provides guests with three en-suite, cabins, each tastefully decorated, made up with a queen size bed and cotton percale linens, offering air conditioning and mosquito proof portholes. The central air-conditioned Saloon Deck comprises a spacious lounge, indoor and outdoor dining areas, the gourmet galley and the wheelhouse. The Upper Deck, perhaps the most popular of all, provides a sociable bar, comfortable seating areas, al-fresco dining, and a refreshing jacuzzi, all with panoramic views across the lake to distant horizons.

Chikwenya Camp

Chikwenya overlooks a beautiful stretch of the Zambezi River in the eastern section of Mana Pools National Park, one of the most remote and beautiful areas in Zimbabwe. Views extend over open floodplains down to the legendary river and across to the mountains of the Rift Valley escarpment, while stretching inland behind Chikwenya are the dense woodlands so characteristic of the area. The canvas tents are set on low wooden decks and linked to the raised main area by pine walkways. A lounge, dining and bar area offer a sanctuary of hospitality and relaxation, while a pool deck and fire place offer alternate spaces to take in the scenery and passing wildlife. The area is renowned for its large numbers of elephant, buffalo, hippo and eland, especially in winter when they concentrate along the river – these and a variety of predators can be seen from camp.

Ingwe Pan Camp

Ingwe Pan Camp lies within the remote wilderness of Mana Pools National Park. The camp itself is within a private concession, offering guests an exclusive and personal safari experience. 8 Meru style tents overlook the pan’s southern side, guarded by towering jackalberry and nyala berry trees that offer an escape from the hot African sunshine. The tents are designed with neutral colours and made with natural materials, meaning that they can blend into the landscape without disrupting the sweeping views. Guests can enjoy watching elephants, impala and warthog playing and drinking from the water during the daytime, and most evenings you will be treated to the rare sight of a wild dog pack who visit the pan with their pups.

John’s Camp

John’s Camp is a semi-permanent safari camp that lies on the banks of the Zambezi River, nestled into the pleasant shade of towering Trichelia and Mahogany trees. The camp opens in May of each year, and guests can visit until November 15th, when the camp closes for the rainy season. 6 Meru style tents overlook the river’s tranquil waters and the rolling landscape beyond. Guests can gather by an evening campfire and enjoy interacting and sharing exciting safari stories over a meal. John’s Camp is situated within Mana Pools National Park, where guests can walk across the floodplains and get up close to the incredible wildlife that roams the diverse landscape. Watch the silhouettes of passing African Bull Elephant herds as you see off the end of another day with a refreshing sundowner, as trails of blazing pink and orange streak through the clear skies.
