Magashi

Situated in the diverse and productive north-eastern corner of Akagera National Park, Magashi overlooks the stunning Lake Rwanyakazinga and offers guests views of the scenic savannah in all its glory. Established in partnership with the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) and African Parks, the camp demonstrates their commitment to pioneering sustainable and authentic ecotourism in Rwanda. Their core Purpose here is to help conserve Rwanda’s last protected savannah ecosystem, and species like black rhino and the rare and elusive shoebill; furthermore, their presence in Akagera National Park will contribute towards enabling it to become economically self-sufficient for the first time. Guests who stay here can witness the stunning work in place and take part in activities that celebrate the surroundings such as boating, game drives and birding.

Mantis Akagera Game Lodge

Akagera National Park, offers a truly exceptional wildlife experience. It is the only Big-5 reserve in Rwanda, and is also home to the rare swamp-dwelling Sitatunga. Guests also have the opportunity to see an abundance of birdlife, including the rare Shoebill stork, the endangered papyrus Gonolex and the much sought-after Red-faced Barbet. With over 500 recorded species, Akagera is one of the best birding environs in the world with the highest recorded number of species per unit area. The Park has a unique diversity of habitats, including lakes, marshes, savannah, mountains and woodland, and is the largest protected wetland in central Africa. Blue Zebra Island Lodge

The exclusive Blue Zebra Island Lodge is situated on Nankoma Island, part of the Marelli Archipelago in Lake Malawi National Park (UNESCO World Heritage site). The 3 islands are home to a vast array of fresh water fish, including some of the most rare and colourful in the world. The islands support diverse flora and fauna and are a bird watcher’s paradise. Mumbo Island Camp

Mumbo is a pristine island in Lake Malawi National Park which, with its crystal clear waters and innumerable species of cichlid fish, offers some of the best freshwater scuba diving in the world and the best snorkelling on the Lake. The island lies 10km north-west of Cape Maclear, where reception and the nearest point of road access is located. The camp comprises five units (two twin tents and three twin reed chalets) perched on rocks high above the water shaded by lush foliage, each with bucket showers, ‘eco-loos’ and wooden deck. A hammock provides a comfortable spot to take in the idyllic Lake view. A twin-tented family unit is tucked into the forest near the main beach. There is a dining area, bar and watersport gazebo of timber and thatch. Activities here vary from lazing in a hammock to snorkelling, diving, swimming, kayaking, walking and bird watching. Guests have the option of boating or paddling to explore the granitic islands of the Lake.

Crater Safari Lodge

Crater Safari Lodge is situated on the very edge of Kibale National Park, and overlooks the second largest crater lake in Uganda. The Lodge consists of a large and spacious main lounge and dining area, with a high thatched roof and cosy sofas and armchairs placed around with breathtaking views over the lake and surroundings. Greystoke Mahale

Greystoke Mahale lies on the white sands of Lake Tanganyika’s shore, facing out over the crystal water. The lodge and six luxury rooms stand against the backdrop of dense forest and sub-tropical greenery that sprawl along the base of the 8000 ft tall Mahale Mountains. The remote camp offers guests a private and exclusive break from civilisation where you can relax and enjoy the diverse landscape that the BaTongwe tribe once called home. Listen for the sounds of chimpanzee conversations, while birdsong carries over the treetops and the gentle lake waters lap at the shore. Mbali Mbali Mahale

Mbali Mbali Mahale sits on a stretch of sheltered golden beach, deep in the heart of the African interior. Boasting a backdrop formed by the dramatic Mahale Mountain range, and the crystal clear waters of Lake Tanganyika in the foreground, this secluded and romantic hideaway is the perfect blend of relaxation and luxury. Each well-appointed Beach tent has been strategically positioned to offer guests privacy, while still allowing easy access to the beach and communal areas. Each Beach Tent is on a raised platform; delivers 24-hour electricity and hot and cold running water. The tents provide self-contained mosquito nets around the beds and bathroom. The primary activity in the park is chimpanzee trekking, carefully monitored so as to reduce human impact on the famous habituated M-Group chimps. Loldia House

In the Great Rift Valley, where continents collide, Lake Naivasha is host to a myriad of spectacular wildlife, including the Big 5, as well as vibrant birdlife, and a few incredibly rare animals, such as the furtive mountain bongo, which resides on the slopes of the Eburru volcano, in its verdant forest. Loldia House sits on the north-western shore of Lake Naivasha, and basks in the serene views over the lake towards Mount Longonot. After its 2018 refurbishment, the traditional farmhouse has been reformed to encapsulate the classic elegance of a place steeped in history. Loldia’s infinity pool positioned on a rocky outcrop between two ancient fig trees, and commands spectacular views out over the lake.
