With over 500 species of animals in Los Glaciares National Park, travellers will likely spot some native wonders including pumas, deers, foxes, skunks, wild cats, armadillos, flamingos, and spectacled ducks. The climate at Lago Argentino is mild throughout the year. The warmest time of year tends to be between the months of November and March, when the average temperature is 15°C, with highs of 18°C. The cold season begins around May and lasts until August, and during this time of year, temperatures are usually below 7°C, with July – the coldest month – seeing temperatures between 4°C and -1°C. While it is cloudy and breezy throughout the year, rain tends to fall from December to August. Despite this, it is commonly agreed that the best time to travel is between December and late February – remember warm clothing and steady walking shoes.
The suites at Xelena Hotel and Suites are modern and spacious, with contemporary furniture and a featured colour palette of browns, oranges and creams. The rooms are bright and filled with natural light through wide windows which look out over the expansive azure lake. Rooms either come with a side view of the lake or a front view of the lake – through sliding doors which open up onto a small balcony. Comfortable double beds are covered in crisp white duvets and comfortable pillows, and seating areas include dining tables and cosy sofas and armchairs.
