Mai Chau Lodge sits deep amidst a valley surrounded by mountains and dense forestry. Nearby is Lac Village and Mo Luong lake which is an ideal spot for photographers and those who desire a idilic lake side lodge experience. Mai Chau Lodge is located 135km southwest of Hanoi in the Northern province of Hoa Binh. It takes approximately 4 hours to make the drive from Hanoi. The nearest international airport is Hanoi’s Noi Bai.

An outdoor swimming pool with sun loungers is offered  and after a dip you can go inside to the steam bath and/or Roman style Jacuzzi to contemplate the day. Immaculately maintained, it has 15 rooms and 1 junior suite which are well-equipped and decorated with dark wood furnishings and brightly coloured ethnic style accessories. In order to make your stay comfortable, the lodge offers all modern conveniences inside all rooms including: a safety deposit box, air conditioning, room service, a fridge, en suite bathroom, TV and a private balcony to take in the stunning views of the valley.

Deluxe Room

These stunning rooms come with either a mountain or pool view. They are cosy with heavy dark-wood furniture and floors complemented by bright cushions, pillows and bed runners. The Deluxe Pool View open into verandas which over look the pool. All bathrooms come with a shower, hairdryer and bathrobes.

Junior Suite

The stunning Junior Suite offers a vast room with an equally large balcony with a seating area, perfect to watch the sunset behind the hills. This room comes with a four-poster bed and features wood-beamed ceilings.

Guests can enjoy their meals served in the open-air dining room with views over a lily pond and the distant hills. Available is Western and traditional Vietnamese style foods topped off by an evening barbecue. The Veranda Bar is perfect to laze in the sun with a cold drink along with a snack menu and a wine cellar. Most nights, White Thai dancers put on a charming exhibition of traditional dances over on the patio space.

A 5-minute walk down the rural road next to the lodge brings you to a White Thai village. Here, people live in stilt houses, graze their water buffaloes in the rice fields, and weave beautiful fabrics on simple looms. The location is ideal for walkers and trekkers with the vast and dense landscapes of Mai Chau and the accommodation offers free bicycle rental for those who want to experience Vietnam on two wheels. Hanoi is a bus ride away and through the hotel, you can book seats on the daily ran shuttle bus. If you want to go further a field, an 8-seater bus can be chartered to the karst mountains of Tan Lac and the impressive Thung Khe mountain pass. You can also have a go at fishing, birdwatching, sailing and kayaking on the pond.
