Le Domaine de L'Orangeraie
Le Domaine de l’Orangeraie is located in the northwest corner of La Digue, an island in the Seychelles, in the Indian Ocean off East Africa. The island is known for its beaches, like Anse Source d’Argent, dotted with granite boulders, on the west coast. To the south, is the isolated Anse Bonnet Carré Beach, accessible only on foot, as is Anse Cocos Beach, a protected bay on the east coast.
La Digue’s is home to diverse wildlife and is a (almost) motor-free island. There’s no airport on the island, just 5 km (3 miles) long and 3 km (2 miles) wide, so you’ll first meet La Digue from the water, via a 20-minute boat ride from nearby Praslin to the island.

The temperature on La Digue rarely dips below 24°C (75°F) even at night, averaging a comfortable 28°C (83°F) in the daytime. The island is a year-round destination but, arguably, the best times to go are April to May and October to November. This being that between those times the water tends to be calmest, providing good visibility for snorkelling as well as a smooth ferry journey across to the island.
Situated in a magical surrounding is where you’ll find one of the Garden Villa’s (60 sqm) offering a peaceful and spacious accommodation amidst the exotic and lush garden of Le Domaine. Authenticity, simplicity and serenity merge in perfect harmony, conveying the feeling of a true island experience. The Garden Villas can accommodate up to 2 adults and 1 child (less than 12 on a single extra bed) only. However, connecting villas are available upon request.

Especially designed with family at heart, the Garden Suite Residences offer spacious accommodation, with a surface of around 100 sqm. Each Garden Suite incorporates a comfortable island style design. The villa includes one large bedroom with all facilities required and one large sitting room which can be converted to accommodate other guests. The Suite can accommodate up to 3 adults or 2 adults with 1 child (4-11 y.o.).

Experience a sublime all-day cruise full of adventure on a catamaran during your stay on La Digue, at Le Domaine de l’Orangeraie. There’s not a better way to discover the island’s virgin coastline on a seemingly endless necklace of perfect beaches, secluded coves and secret strands.
This is a great adventure for the young at heart with the first stop being at St. Pierre Island, a favourite with swimmers and snorkelers in the Seychelles. You will then visit Curieuse Island reserve, where you can admire the giant land tortoises and enjoy a one-hour tour of the island, walking through the mountains and mangrove swamps to Anse Jose.
The day continues with a mouth-watering BBQ lunch, served aboard the elegant Oplezir Catamaran, before cruising to the stunning Anse Georgette beach for a photo stop and a refreshing swim. The trip will end with a scenic cruise along the North East coast of Praslin Island, before we bring you back to your hotels to reminisce about the wonders of the day.

Experience this unique combination of Seychelles’ most famous island highlights, starting with a one hour guided tour of Cousin: a picturesque reserve for a wide range of fauna, including doves and giant tortoises, and a conservation success story that has rescued important endemic wildlife from extinction.
After relishing in the rich diversity of this pristine sanctuary, you will then visit Curieuse Island off Praslin’s northern coast, the only place apart from the Vallee de Mai where the legendary Coco de Mer grows wild. Here, you enjoy exceptional swimming in limpid waters and relaxation on white sands, before being served a tasty BBQ lunch.
After lunch, you can enjoy a one hour walk through this fascinating nature reserve, taking in the ruins of its ancient leper colony and the newly refurbished ‘Doctor’s House’, now a charming museum. The island trail meanders through a mangrove forest teeming with wildlife towards the impressive lagoon of Baie Laraie where small sharks and turtles abound and where you will also find the pen for rearing giant land tortoises in an exciting conservation project.
Leaving Curieuse behind, we will eventually make our way to the third in our trio of island jewels, St.Pierre, for the snorkelling experience of a lifetime amid crystal clear waters, which abound with a myriad of fish and colourful coral formations.
