The ITA and the SERNANP associations manage the Inkaterra Machu Picchu Spectacled Bear Project. A project focused on nurturing bears who have suffered at the face of the human footprint and helps them recover and reintegrate back into the natural world. The spectacled bear is an endangered species that is at risk of extinction within intervention from wildlife conservation organisations. The NGO Inkaterra Association develops and manages initiatives on biodiversity conservation. Initiatives include; a canopy walkway, a bridge system in the rainforest canopy to enable wildlife observation, the largest native orchid collection in the world and many more.
