Location
The Hotel de la Opera is located in La Candelaria, next to the Cristobal Colon Theater, in front of “Palacio San Carlos”, currently headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, one block from Bolivar Square and a fifteen minutes walk to the funicular for Monserrate hill. In the centre of Bogota’s old town, guests can easily access attractions like the Gold Museum, Botero Museum and Primary Cathedral.

The establishment offers a total of 42 rooms which are decorated with elegant Italian-made furniture. 2 types of room are offered in the colonial house; Twin and Standard, both roughly 30m2. On the houses third floor is the Junior Deco Suite (42m2) a modern room featuring a private bathroom with tub, a desk, heating, and directory (cultural information and tourism activities).
All rooms come equipped with central heating, Wi-Fi, flat-screen TV, minibars, safe deposit boxes, a private balcony and minibar. Price includes full spa access (additional treatments at extra cost) and room service.
Activities and Experiences
The hotel offers tours, plans and packages to allow guests to fully enjoy Bogota and its old town. Guests can enjoy Mediterranean, Colombian and vegetarian dishes at La Scala Restaurant, and pizza and hamburgers at El Mirador Restaurant. Other amenities provided include a bar, a spa, and an in and outdoor swimming pool.
Thermae Spa
The hotels full equipped spa features a sauna, pool, Jacuzzi, Turkish and Cardio-vascular zone and offers numerous treatments, which can be adapted to suit the whole family. Spa days and treatments for children are available, the most popular being ‘Chocokids’, a relaxing massage with a chocolate exfoliation and facial – chocolate treats are included!
