Hike to the summit of Ijen Volcano during the night, one of the wonders of Java, and witness the mesmerising blue flames inside the crater of the natural phenomenon. Begin early in the day at 1:30am, travel in a jeep to the base of the mountain, arrive at the entrance gate and prepare to hike. You will reach the volcano’s rim after hiking for 1 1/2 hours and from this point you will be able to see one of the biggest sulphur lakes in the world and the crater’s famous blue fire. At 5:00am you will reach the top of Ijen to capture the sunrise, after which you will return to the hotel.
Head to Baluran National Park to experience the thrill of a safari and explore wide-open savanna grasslands that are home to a myriad of free-roaming wildlife. Enjoy the phenomenal sight of desert-like landscapes during the dry season. This park covers 250 square kilometres and is well worth visiting to catch sight of native creatures such as the endangered Javanese water buffalo and the Javan Rusa Deer. As you explore the park you will pass through Jurassic-like jungle to reach Bama Beach and enjoy a picnic lunch with free time on the beach.
Relax on white sandy beaches and go snorkelling or diving in the turquoise waters around Tabuhan Island, located between Java and Bali and surrounded by mountainous scenery. You will take a trip on a 20 minute boat ride to Bangsring Beach which is a top spot for diving, snorkelling, windsurfing and kitesurfing. You can enjoy a picnic lunch on the island and return by boat to Bangsring Beach where you have the opportunity to have a shower.
Experience diving and snorkelling in the pristine waters in which you immerse yourself to discover amazing coral gardens and marine life. You will be able to explore the reefs and baby sharks and then ride a boat for 20 minutes with a guide to the Menjangan Island. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the island and continue snorkelling before departing to arrive back at the hotel.
Believed to be the oldest batik style in the area, Banyuwangi has a unique motif known as Gajah Oling, which is a symbol of local heritage representing the strength and resilience of Mataram Islam and Blambangan Kingdom. You will have the opportunity to enjoy a fascinating introduction to making Batik Gajah Oling in a private class with a local artist which takes place at the hotel and lasts for 2 hours.
This journey begins at the village of Tamansari on the slopes of Ijen mountain with a stop at a traditional sulphur processing plant to see how sulphur rock is transformed into sulphur crystals. Continue downhill to Kalibendo coffee and rubber plantation for coffee and a light bite with the option to tour the rubber and coffee processing factory. You will stop Kemiren Village to observe the Osing traditional houses and Osing women in traditional dress going about daily life. You will then continue with a slow and relaxing downhill ride until you arrive back at the hotel.
Begin your journey at Baluran National Park to start exploring the savanna and enjoy a barefoot dining experience surrounded by East Java’s most exotic and dramatic landscapes. The carefully selected lunch menu is inspired by local dishes and delicacies such as nasi tempong and the signature chicken wings along with a selection of international pastries, topped off with a bucket of cold beer or wine. You will continue to explore the park as you pass through Jurassic-like jungle to Bama Beach for rest and relaxation.
Embark on a 4×4 jeep adventure into the jungle and be amazed by the sight of the endangered Javanese bull, Green Pea Fowls and Indian Deer in its original habitat, savanna Sadengan. Climb up to the observation tower for a great photo opportunity and visit Pura Giri Salaka, an ancient Hindu temple where pilgrims from around Indonesia come to make offerings to God.
Arrive at Meru Betiri National Park in East Java which has provided an undisturbed breeding sanctuary for thousands of years for a few species of giant sea turtle that live in the Pacific and Indian Oceans. On the first day, trek to a hidden beach called Teluk Hijau (Green Bay) and enjoy an open-air lunch in the jungle. You will then continue to Sukamade which is the breeding ground for the turtles where you will take a rest at a guesthouse before the night activities. You will have the opportunity to witness turtles arriving on the beach to lay their eggs and you may have the chance to release some the hatched turtles into the ocean. On the second day. drive to Rajegwesi fishermen’s village to see the life of local peple making their living by sailing and fishing on the open ocean.
