The hotel benefits from a total of 29 rooms arranged in three semicircles, with cultivated fields in between. Accommodation comes in a variety of categories such as single, doubles, triples and family rooms, based on separate houses. Amenities within rooms include individual terraces, WiFi, private bathrooms and private entries. Some rooms also have outside showers to enjoy the starry night and sunny days. The Hotel has its own restaurant (open at night too). There is also the bar and every day there is happy hour and good music to relax, after a long excursion outdoors. The restaurant offers a nice menu from entrée, main course and dessert which are all served with elegance. The menu varies daily and weekly, offering a various of unique dishes to experience. The food is a mixture of Peruvian, Chilean and Atacameñan inspiration. Thus, the food gives an authentic feeling of the region and the altiplano. The restaurant uses special ingredients which are quinoa, purple potatoes, scallops, chañar and Indian corn.

The hotel’s location is quite a unique location, guests are able to enjoy all the touristic attractions offered by the magical town of San Pedro de Atacama, whilst also staying in a remote, quiet atmosphere. Main attractions of the region include Geysers del Tatio, Machuca, Valley of the Moon, Death Valley, Salt Flat and Altiplanic Lagoons.

Outside San Pedro de Atacama is another valley called the “Moon Valley”, as it is like being on the moon due to its unique landscapes, which is the main reason travellers come to Valle de la Luna, to explore the region by bike or by foot, or guided tours.

Huge salt plains can be found around the Atacama desert and this creates an in depth perception experience. This is due to lagoons in the Atacama desert being so salty that you can effortlessly float in them, it’s a unique experience and guided tours are provided too, to Salar de Uyuni and you can take your time exploring the interesting rock formations, geysers, lagoons and wildlife. The most popular place to visit is Laguna Cejar and Laguna Baltinache.

Travellers can truly enjoy the outdoors and explore the surrounding nature that San Pedro de Atacama has to offer by either Horse Riding, bike riding, trekking and mountaineering routes, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The horseback excursions across the Valley of the Moon, the bike riding paths towards Pukará de Quitor, trekking routes to the Salt Mountains and Domeniko. The hotel’s architecture is quite unique and traditional, when building the hotel there was an emphasis on using earthy materials such as straw, tar, bricks, wood and stone. The architecture is inspired by the Altiplano Chilean-Boliviano. This method of building is mixtures of Indian culture with Spanish colonisation, which are present and are a fantastic solution to the intense desert climate. The decoration of the hotel highlights the Indian roots and the architecture in general blends in with the beautiful Atacama desert.

• Andean landscaping – Atacama gardens are a heritage of the native species of the area, they value and preserve the use of original reproduction and planting techniques.

The concept anchors the design to the earth color of the walls and straw ceilings that merge the hotel with nature. Great emphasis in the use of the earth materials as well as a design is inspired in the Altiplano Chilean-Boliviano gave origin to this project. The desert is beautiful for its silence so the visual information was minimized to reduce competition of color with the landscape. Its construction is totally adobe bricks, stone, wood and other noble materials of the area, such as tar and straw. The hotel combines in a very particular way refinement in the decoration; simplicity of materials, good taste and beauty, giving finally the impression of being in a small village of the Altiplano.
