Alfajiri Villas, Ukunda, Kenya

Diani Beach is renowned as one of the best beaches in Kenya, and this is the perfect location to visit after a safari inland. The beach is a 15 kilometre stretch of white, fine sand and sparkling azure waters of the Indian Ocean. Located on a cliff, Alfajiri Cliff Villa affords one of the most outstanding views along the beach and out to sea.

Warm waters are inviting and stunning sunrises illuminate the waters and sky to ethereal effect. Many tropical birds can be seen in this area, Southern banded snake-eagles, plain-backed sunbird and spotted ground-thrush all frequent the area, and you may even be lucky enough to spot some rare Angolan colobus monkeys or baboons.

Guests can access Alfajiri Cliff Villa by an approximately 1 hour drive from Mombasa.

  • Luxury villa for guests private use
  • Located on a cliff overlooking the amazing Diani Beach
  • A large, glassy swimming pool is perfect for guests to enjoy a refreshing afternoon dip
  • Spacious veranda area for the whole family to spend time together
  • Tailored dining can be enjoyed anywhere in or outside the property
  • Activities are offered that are suitable for the whole family, from snorkelling to an excursion to Shimba Hills National Reserve

Being close to the equator means that the climate at Diani Beach is warm and temperate throughout the year. Temperatures usually only fluctuate between high 20s and low 30s, and the humidity remains high. To combat the humidity there is a fresh, cooling breeze overall keeping the temperature tolerable. The clear, sunny skies are interrupted twice a year in two rainy seasons.

A large one from mid-March to early June and a smaller one starting at the end of October to mid-December – despite the rain these are still excellent times to visit. The Indian Ocean is always warm with a temperature in the mid to high 20s, August is the coolest month overall and February is the hottest; it is commonly agreed that the best time to visit is from late June to October.

Turret Suite

On the top floor of the villa the Turret Suite can be found. This spacious, bright room has a very romantic feel to it and comes complete with a large four posted bed, romantically swathed with mosquito netting and with crisp white bed linens. A 270 degree view of the coast and surrounding area can be seen from this room and wide windows mean guests will never miss any of these stunning views. A neutral colour palette runs through this room keeping the space feeling fresh and with a beachy feel.

Double Bedrooms

On the first floor of the villa are two double bedrooms. These come complete with a shared balcony where guests can relax and marvel at the stunning surroundings, looking out over luscious tree tops or over the horizon. Both rooms come with a large four poster bed, draped in mosquito netting so guests can sleep in peace and with faded wooden furniture creating a beachy feel, which is emphasised in the neutral colour palette.

Ground Floor

On the ground floor is one twin room. Two four poster beds sit side by side, covered in traditionally patterned bedcovers and both draped with mosquito netting. The room has a warm and comfortable feel to it, and the beachy colour palette seen in the rest of the villa can be seen in this room too. Light coloured walls reflect the natural light coming in through the window and help keep the room bright.

Private Chefs

Alfajiri Cliff Villa comes complete with chefs who can develop personal daily menus to suit all moods and dietary requirements. The cuisine is fresh with seafood being brought in daily from the beach, including shellfish, snapper and yellowfin tuna. With a mediterranean influence, the meals are healthy and delicious and sample fresh fruit and vegetables, hand-picked from local farms. And with a choice of a variety of South African and American wines, there is one to compliment every meal.

Water Activities

Whether you are experienced in the water of not, there is an activity suitable for everyone. A boat can take guests out for a spot of deep sea fishing, guests can explore the shallows with some snorkelling, scuba diving is available – with a course for beginners – and kite surfing is available, also with a course for beginners. For the more adrenaline seeking guests, riding the waves on a jet ski is offered from the villa.
