Departing at 8am straight from Nantipa, this four hour tour includes beverages and a guide. After a 45 minute boat ride to Tortuga Island, you will have the opportunity to explore this beautiful island and the creatures that live below the wave line. With a stunning reef to explore by snorkelling, you’re guaranteed to see a range of sea life. During the arriving and returning boat ride, you have the opportunity to enjoy the stunning views of the Nicoya Península, as well as dolphins, turtles and in certain seasons the fascinating humpback whales. The tour to Tortuga Island is perfect for those who adore snorkelling and those who are amazed by the sea life that Costa Rica houses.

Accompanied by local guides, guests can venture to the wonderful Montezuma Waterfall on a three hour tour. With the opportunity to see a number of unique plants and animals including, white-faced monkeys, iguanas, parrots and much more, this tour is a must for animal lovers. Once you reach Montezuma Waterfall, you will be fascinated by the cascading waters, you can even go for a swim under the waterfall for that true jungle feeling.

Nantipa has partnered with the 5 Minute Beach Cleanup Foundation, in order to raise awareness about the plastic pollution that contaminates the oceans. Nantipa encourages guests to spend just 5 minutes collecting plastic from the beach, using one of the supplied buckets, and dispose of it in the allocated bins. Guests are rewarded with a free refreshing smoothie, once they complete their five minutes and post about the activity on their social media. This partnership has helped raise awareness of the impact of plastics on the oceans and beaches, and leaves guests considering their own impact on the environment.

Nantipa is dedicated to reduce the amount of plastic it uses. They have replaced plastic water bottles with glass pitchers in all rooms, all plastic straws have been replaced with biodegradable or stainless steel options, and all take out meals are packaged in biodegradable materials.

Reduction and reutilisation of resources is a key focus of Nantipa. All waster water is processed at a treatment plant, and the cleaned water is used in the Nantipa gardens to water the tropical flora that surrounds the resort. Also, Nantipa is dedicated to reducing the amount of fossil-fuel generated electricity they use, solar water heaters are installed in every room and energy sensors are used to manage lights and air conditioning. These installations and practices help Nantipa to reduce its negative impact on the environment.
