Visit the Chengdu Panda Base, a museum that focuses on the critically endangered giant pandas and a sanctuary with more than 150 giant pandas. Witness pandas climbing up trees, eat their meals, roam together in the large open air enclosure, and even see some baby pandas born during the period of July to September. There are three main halls to see within the base which include the Giant Panda Hall, the Butterfly Hall and the Vertebrate Hall where visitors can observe a variety of information, pictures, models, fossils, and samples that are displayed here.
Home of the famous poet Du Fu in Tang Dynasty, the Du Fu cottage has been repeatedly renovated and enlarged which has lead to it becoming a shrine to Chinese literature and a commemorative museum in a traditional garden. The cottage covers an area of 24 hectares, combining the Fan’an Temple in the east and the Plum Garden in the west which are in the style of traditional Chinese gardening. There are a number of attractions to see at the cottage which are open to the public such as Shaoling Thatched Cottage Tablet Pavilion, Thatched Cottage, Flowery Path and Pagoda.
