Yangtze Hotel is the predecessor of The Yangtze Boutique Shanghai which opened in 1933 and retains 87 years of history. It’s decorated with lavish art deco style and was claimed as “The Third Largest Hotel in the Far East” by the renowned architect, Li Pan. This hotel used to be a popular social resort to which brought numerous celebrities and movie stars. The history extends to the birthplace of the most classic and well-known song, “Rose, Rose, I love you”. Nowadays, entering each room, this song reminds each guest of the prosperity of the old Shanghai with its sweet voice and nostalgic melody.

Dine at the CIAO dining room to taste authentic Italian and Mediterranean cuisine which are prepared by chefs in the open kitchen. Relax within the dining room as your meals are cooked for you and take in the views of the busy street as people walk by the restaurant.
Tang restaurant serves Cantonese dishes for guests to order from the menu in the private and elegant environment of the restaurant. There are 9 different rooms within the restaurant that all have private balconies which are available to guests for business meetings and banquets from which a daily-changed menu offers a dim sum a la carte menu.
Madame Tussauds Shanghai is located on the tenth floor of New World Plaza and has become famous for its lifelike wax figures. There are nearly 80 wax figures within the building including figures of Yao Ming, David Beckham, Tom Cruise, Michael Jordan and Bill Clinton. Each of these figures cost more than a million yuan which have all been made in the London Studio which has over 200 years of wax making experience. There are seven Theme Pavilions within Madame Tussauds Shanghai which exhibit the figures and these include: Behind the Scenes, Charm of Shanghai, Historic Celebrities, Movies, Music, Sports, and Speed. Visitors will also have the opportunity to make their own hand models which they can take away as a souvenir.
Yuyuan Garden is located near the famous Chenghuang Miao and the Chenghuang Temple where there are a variety of shops and restaurants to purchase snacks and souvenirs. Within the park are an array of ponds, trees, flowers, rock structures, pavilions, pagodas and old historical buildings that are all open to the public for exploration. There are walls separating areas of the garden with many bridges to access some of the areas with views of the ponds packed with orange-gold, white, and black koi. Visitors can also see the art gallery situated in the Ting Tao Tower Exhibit where there are two floors of paintings on long scrolls by artists to be observed.
Located on the People’s Square, the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall covers a total area of 3600 square metres and was built to show the achievement of the city planning and construction. There are a number of functions within the building such as exhibition, reference, research, communication, recreation, and entertainment. The theme of the building is “City, People, Environment and Development” in which there is a city model at the scale of 1/500. The inspiration for the design of the building came from the traditional Chinese city gates with the top of the building designed in the shape of a white magnolia, the flower of Shanghai.
