Set on more than 200 acres of rolling hillsides in Tucker’s Town and overlooking a glorious turquoise sea. If you consider yourself a golfer, then this experience is a must.
The 18-hole, par-70 Tucker’s Point Golf Course was originally designed in 1932 by Charles H. Banks, the course was completely redesigned in 2002 by Roger Rulewich. Golfers traverse undulating fairways with many elevated tees while coping with the varying speed and direction of changeable winds. The green itself features TifEagle, a Bermuda grass hybrid that makes for a quick putting surface, while a practice facility includes a driving range, practice putting green, and a short-game area.
Tucker’s Point Golf Club, located on a panoramic hilltop, includes Sul Verde, a Golf Pro Shop, and full-service locker rooms with complimentary day lockers. Sul Verde serves lunch and dinner daily, while the Pro Shop carries an extensive selection of merchandise from top brands such as Adidas, Fairway & Greene, FootJoy, and Titleist. The highest-quality rental irons are available for men and women.
To help navigate the course and add to guests’ golf experience, Tucker’s Point Golf Club offers GPS-guided golf carts. Carts are recommended for non-members. Rosewood’s golf professionals will be happy to assist guests with reserving tee times at Tucker’s Point.
The Water Sports Centre at Rosewood Bermuda welcomes guests to seek their ocean adventure along the shores of Castle Harbour. The Water Sports Centre, operated by local outfitters Kinezumi Water Sports and U Sail Castle Harbour, offers select complementary equipment, including stand-up paddleboards and sea kayaks as well as rental equipment including sail-craft, and motorised boats.
U Sail Castle Harbour offers a full array of non-motorised water sports craft as well as private and small group lessons. Guests staying at the Rosewood Resort can enjoy complimentary access to sea kayaks and stand-up paddleboards, additionally, guests can rent one- or two-person sailboats, and windsurfing kits.
Kinezumi Water Sports offer an exhilarating floating water park. Similar to an obstacle course, the floating park offers climbing towers, launch pads, and a maze of floating pathways to challenge and delight families. The electric vehicles are sustainable, quiet and have enough range meaning guests can freely traverse the island of Bermuda without a worry. These mini electric vehicles can be arranged by Rosewood’s concierge, allowing those who wish to freely explore the island at their own pace and in an eco-friendly and sustainable manor.
“Aimed at restoring Castle Harbour’s coral reefs, the Living Reefs Foundation was formed in 2014 to help implement the measures needed to keep Bermuda’s reefs—and the marine life they support—healthy. This initiative stems from sound scientific studies recognising that coral reefs are the island’s prime marine asset and key to Bermuda’s appeal to visitors. The foundation is composed of scientists, water sports operators and environmentalists who have worked in the marine world for over 30 years. With the approval of Bermuda’s Ministry of Environment, the foundation works with government departments and NGO experts to enable priority measures for the preservation of Bermuda’s valuable coral reefs. The goal is to earmark 85% of all donations for reef-related work and thus assist experts in sustaining the health of Bermuda’s coral reef system.”
Rosewood Tucker’s Point Resort welcomes families with small children and offers a kids club, Explorers in Motion. In the summer season from late May to early October, a regular daily program curated for children ages 4 and up will incorporate a variety of activities from arts and crafts, dance and music events, games and outdoor exploration.
