The Verandah Resort and Spa

The Verandah Resort and Spa is situated in Long Bay, Antigua; a sunny and secluded spot to unwind and admire nature. This oasis is spread across 30 beachfront acres making it the perfect spot for a wedding, honeymoon or family getaway. Guests can enjoy the tranquillity of the body and soul spa, indulging in body wraps, massages and even in its very own hair and nail salon. Guests can also try more adrenaline filled fun at the resort such as paddle boarding, wind surfing and kayaking. The naturally hot location is surrounded by sandy beaches and clear waters to admire. Resting on a 30-acre site, the resort takes up just 12 acres of space allowing for the natural beauty of the island to thrive. This allows guests to admire the naturally growing gardens when they stay at the resort as well as admire sandy beaches. The resort and spa is just 30 minutes away from V.C. Bird International Airport and guests can take a cab to the resort from here. Once at the resort guests can unwind on the beaches, admire the gardens or even go underwater and explore the natural ecosystems home to schools of fish and turtles.

Waterfront Suite

With panoramic views of the ocean, up to 4 guests can comfortable stay in the waterfront suite. There is a king sized bed along with a queen sized sleeper sofa for guests and the private veranda makes the room feel all the more enjoyable. Guests can admire the elegant Caribbean style décor as well as amenities such as air conditioning, sliding glass doors and a deep soaking tub to unwind in after a day of exploring the island. Other features include an in room safe, mini fridge, kitchenette, tea and coffee facilities and also his and hers sinks in the bathroom.

Hillside Suite

Nestled in the tropical gardens, the hillside suites offer guests of up to 4 to unwind amongst nature and a blossoming landscape. Guests can take morning coffee on the private veranda, admiring the views whilst doing so and with a king size bed and queen size sleeper sofa, each guests is sure to sleep soundly. Other features include an in room safe, mini fridge, microwave, kitchenette and a flat screen TV with satellite TV channels. Other amenities include sliding glass doors, a deep soaking tub and his and hers sinks in the bathroom.

Two Bedroom Plunge Pool Villa

Situated above the beach with stunning views to admire, guests can lounge on the private front veranda or take a dip in the private plunge pool to unwind. The pool overlooks the resort’s gardens and the villa also has two bedrooms so that guests are given privacy during their stay. Accommodating for up to 6 people, these villas are ideal for families or small groups.

The villas each have a living room and dining area all in Caribbean style décor and there is a king size bed as well as a queen size sleeper sofa for guests. Other features include sliding glass doors, a flat screen TV, an in room safe and a refrigerator. Guests can also enjoy the private balcony, his and hers sinks and modern accents to make the space feel more like home.

Two Bedroom Villa

Located at the very top of the hill, the 2 bedroom villas interconnect to suites through a balcony door and have their own private veranda with table and chairs to unwind and admire the view from. Ideal for families and groups, up to 6 people can comfortably occupy these villas. Guests can enjoy the luxury of a living room and dining area complete with Caribbean style décor to complete the island experience. Other features include a master bedroom balcony, a king size bed and 2 twin beds in the second bedroom. A flat screen TV, in room safe, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker are all included. Other amenities include air conditioning, an iron and satellite TV for complete comfort during your stay.

Sea Breeze Restaurant

The resort’s main restaurant, this spot serves breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet style. Completely air conditioned makes the spot even more comfortable for dining and with high ceilings, the restaurant is airy and tropical.

Nicole's Restaurant

Guests can enjoy Caribbean-fusion cuisine at Nicole’s and being sat amongst rattan, bamboo and upholstered furnishings makes it all the more welcoming. Open for dinner between 6:30pm and 10:00pm, this stylish restaurant is not to be missed.

Buccaneer Restaurant

This family friendly spot is a causal place to dine, serving dinner with a Caribbean flair. This restaurant is a la-carte dining.

Wadladi Snack Shack

Situated directly on the beach, Wadladi snack shack is the perfect spot to grab a snack before relaxing directly on the sand, admiring the ocean in all its glory. It is the perfect outdoor spot to relax and admire the beautiful views of Antigua.

Beach Bar and Grill

Perched above the water sports beach, guests can enjoy spectacular views of the bay whilst dining on light snacks, lunches and sipping on a cocktail or beer. The spot also hosts an evening grill for guests to indulge in when nigh falls.

Lounges and Bars

The resort and spa has three main spots to grab a drink: The Rasta Bar, The Main Pool Bar and The Beach Bar. Guests can order cocktails, rum punch and premium liquor from these spots as well as non-alcoholic beverages. Try wine, beer and even afternoon tea that is served daily between 3pm and 5pm adjacent to the Main Pool bar.

Water Sports

Guests are able to take full advantage of this waterfront location and try out a host of water sports at the resort. Take to the water and try windsurfing, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding and hobie cat sailing. Due to the naturally hot location, Antigua is the perfect spot to try out sports and explore the ocean whilst doing so. Beginners and novices are all welcome, with the chance for those of every level to try out the sports.

Diving and Snorkelling

With such a stunning location, guests can explore the underwater ecosystems of the island and admire the tranquil bay when scuba diving and snorkelling at the resort. The resort is home to its own lead dive instructor, Linda Swann, who has over 20 years of experience under her belt to teach guests of the island. Guests can also take PADI courses whilst exploring the marine life, becoming a certified diver whilst doing so. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to swim with turtles and schools of fish and admire the delicate ecosystems that they call their home.

Land Activities

A wide variety of land activities are available to guests at the Verandah Resort and Spa such as tennis and volleyball. Alongside playing on the court guests can take private lessons to improve their skills. Other activities include table tennis, mini golf, shuffleboard and giving a game of pool a go. These activities are perfect for the whole family as well as those travelling in groups, allowing guests to play at both day and night with light up courts available across the island.

Spa and Wellness

The Verandah is home to its very own Tranquillity Body and Soul Spa with an expansive list of treatments for both the body and the skin. Set amongst its own hideaway the spa is decorated using sea grass, rattan, wood and cool white tile to create a relaxing ambience for any guest that visits. Guests can try face therapy, massages for both couples and individuals as well as have access to the salon services; hair and nail services are available and a full selection of services is available especially for wedding parties, making the day even more special.

Green Globe Certification

The Verandah prides itself on being both an environmentally and sustainably responsible resort, gearing its daily operations towards the ecological preservation of its surrounding environment. This has allowed the resort to be recognised as a Green Globe Certified Resort.

Staff training and education

Staff awareness is carried out amongst the team members at the resort, teaching them to understand the importance of sustainable and eco-friendly practices so that the resort’s sustainability initiatives can run more smoothly.

Water Conservation

Whenever possible the resort utilises water efficient faucets, showerheads and toilets. The plants across the resort are also local and indigenous to the area as well as being drought-tolerant to minimise water usage. Landscaping materials are also used to help minimise water runoff at the facility.

Desalination Plant

The resort uses an advanced reverse-osmosis type desalination plant to provide pure, potable water to the resort and spa, ensuring that the local water suppliers are able to serve the local communities.

Waste Management

Waste disposable is carried out safely and recycling programmes have been implemented at the island resort to minimise waste.

Energy Conservation

To ensure that the resort is as energy efficient as possible, construction techniques, insulation, solar power and energy efficient LED lighting systems are in place throughout the resort. There are also air conditioning sensors and light sensors at the resort to ensure that the energy isn’t being consumed when someone is not in the room.
