Known as the ‘Spice Island’ Grenada has a wealth of herbs and spices, as well as having a sizeable cocoa production. With temperatures averaging 30-31°C year round, Grenada is the perfect place to go for warm temperatures. The dry season is from January to mid-April and this is characterised by little to no rainfall and slightly cooler temperatures in comparison to the wet season. The dry season showcases the best weather on the island, however due to this there are more people. May and November are good months to travel when there are less people. The rainy season is from December to April, tropical showers are usually brief with the sunny skies returning soon after the rain and temperatures remaining warm. July and August are filled with colour and celebration as the months when Grenadas carnival celebrations take place, with more people around the island is alive with activity.

The large hand carved queen size bed is situated in the middle of the room, looking out over your own private decking, so the stunning views can be viewed from the comfort of your own bed. Personal, cosy touches are added throughout the room including in the ensuite showroom where guests will find a unique hand made and painted basin. Guests can enjoy a siesta in the hammock on their decking after a long day spent at the beach.
These cottages are set back slightly from the beach, nestled in luscious Caribbean greenery. The tropical gardens surround the cottages on three sides, making them intimate and private – perfect for a romantic getaway. A hand carved four poster bed sits in the middle of the room, swathed in mosquito netting and looks out over your own private decking, which includes a hammock, where you can relax and immerse yourself in the smells and sounds of the Caribbean. Similarly to the Beachfront cottages, guests will find a hand made and hand painted basin in their ensuite, giving a touch of quirkiness to the space.
With outstanding views over the azure ocean, these rooms are comfortable, intimate and romantic. A king size four poster bed is the centre of the room, and is romantically draped with mosquito netting. Stunning views out over your private decking and the endless horizon can be enjoyed from the comfort of your own bed. The room is bright and airy, glass folding doors keeping a fresh Caribbean breeze floating in, and the mixture of island and cottage feel is enhanced by a hammock on the decking and palm print cushions. Guests can spend time marvelling at the stunning view of the Grenadine Islands in the distance – the rooms namesake – or can spend time at the beach or swimming pool, both just a short walk away.
For a family option the Garden Cottage and Garden Bungalow are available. These are self-catering options for guests who wish to do their own thing, and want privacy. Set within the gardens, the cottage and bungalow are quiet and comfortable. With a kitchen, lounge areas and bedrooms, guests will feel at home here. Surrounded by tropical plants and outstanding views guests will receive the island experience.
The main restaurant is located on the highest point of land at Petite Anse, with open sides this means that guests can wine and dine with exceptional views over the beach and even the Grenadines in the distance. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served here. With fresh and local produce from their own farm, meals are delicious and inspired by Caribbean and European influences.
With an all day snacks menu guests will never go hungry and there is an expression machine with a selection of coffees for guests who need s caffeine boost in the mornings. In the evening the dress code is elegant yet casual as the restaurant takes on a more fine dining feel, and guests can enjoy a delicious meal with a thoughtfully paired wine.

The perfect sandy island fringed with coconut trees is just a 30 minute boat ride away from Petite Anse. The island is romantic and uninhabited, and is picture perfect. Guests can relax on the beach for a picnic and spend time birdwatching – looking out for herons, blackbirds and hummingbirds. Swim in the crystal clear waters or snorkel to the reef that sits just off the island.
Guests can explore the island on foot, there are various walking trials that showcase the best views and nature that the island has to offer. A unique hike for guests to experience is the Seven Sister Waterfalls, where guests can also swim in the cooling waters. Or guests can take a hike to Rattan Beach for an afternoon relaxing by the sea. Also available for guests are bikes, allowing guests to explore the inland on wheels, with a fresh breeze in your hair.
For guests interested in history and rum, excursions to River Antoine Rum Distillery can be arranged. This is a beautiful distillery built in 1785 and operates year round, so guests can watch the process of rum being distilled no matter when they visit.
Known for its chocolate production, Grenada is home to the Belmont Plantation. This is a fun day out and includes a cocoa tour, a museum which is full of authentic artefacts and a restaurant. Guests will have the opportunity to buy some of the mouth-watering chocolate bars too.

Grenada has a variety of hot springs, the closet to Petite Anse being the Clabony Hot Springs. Hike through the woods with a guide until you find the rock pool, the waters are warm and clear – until the muddy silt is disturbed. This is the perfect experience for those wanting an adventure and a close connection with nature.
Named after the guava fruit, the town is one of the largest fishing towns on the island of Grenada. Immerse yourself in the culture of Grenada by visiting here, time it right and you can take part in ‘Fish Friday’ where fish dishes are sampled and there is entertainment by the locals. For guests who wish to try their hand at fishing, this can also be arranged.
Between March and June leatherback turtles visit Grenada. Being the largest sea turtle they are hard to miss but spotting one is still a unique opportunity. Nearby Levera Beach is one of the main nesting beaches for these turtles. A formal visit can be arranged from the Levera Beach Information Centre. Whale and dolphin sightings are also a regular occurrence off the coast of Grenada, and organised whale and dolphin spotting tours can be arranged.
The local community is supported by Petite Anse, always striving to “make a positive difference to the community”, since opening local builders and consultants were hired to help build the hotel and local artisans hand crafted much of the furniture used throughout the hotel and cottages, as well as the artwork being by local artists. All the produce used in the restaurant is either from Petite Anse’s own farm or from trusted growers locally. All the staff are hired locally, and are given training and personal development so they can continue onto successful careers if they leave the hotel.
The majority of the cottages at Petite Anse have heated water as a product of solar panels which reduces the carbon footprint of the hotel and the need for fossil fuels is also reduced. LED lights have been installed to reduce energy consumption, recycling and reusing initiates are implemented and all environmental commitments are promoted to their staff and their guests.
The owners of Petite Anse are lifelong lovers of the sea and area creatures. This is why they have partnered with Ocean Spirits Inc., which helps to develop public understanding and awareness of leatherback turtles’ importance through years of research and education sessions, and to reduce competitive use of the turtles.
Petite Anse supports Pack for a Purpose, which is a charity that promotes guests to pack items that children in the local community may benefit from, whether this be school supplies or clothing. Guests who pack items travelling to Petite Anse, these are sent to the local Father Mallaghan’s Home for Boys, which supports and houses children who have been born into unstable and disadvantageous situations.
