Cape Town has a Mediterranean climate, featuring warm, dry summers and cool, wet winters. Average maximum temperatures can range from 18°C/64°F in July to 27°C/81°F in January, with the lowest average minimum occurring in July at 7°C/45°F.

Cape Town experiences about 250 days of sunshine and 788mm of rainfall annually, the latter can be expected between its autumn and winter months of May and August – the best time to visit the Cape Winelands. September marks the start of the spring season and is ideal for whale-watching, while December to March is summer and the hottest time of the year, making it perfect for beachgoers. Cape Town’s weather can go through ‘four seasons in a day’ during spring and autumn, so visitors are advised to keep a light windbreaker or otherwise waterproof clothing on them.

Sea Five Boutique Hotel is located within the affluent Camps Bay suburb of Cape Town and just 300 metres from the Camps Bay Beach, the largest white sand beach on the bay. Guests can take a 4 minute stroll down to said “Blue Flag” beach, a trademark awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education in 2008 that certifies that the beach reaches their high environmental and quality standards.

The impressive lookout points of Maiden’s Cove, with views of the 12 Apostles Mountain range as well as a host of tide pools to swim in and rocks to climb, is just 11 minutes from Sea Five. Glen Beach, known as Camps Bay’s best surfing spot, is only an  8-minute walk from the hotel as well. The Table Mountain National Park is 20 minutes away on foot and perfect for adventuring if all the swimming and sunbathing gets tiring. Around the bay tourists can find a host of restaurants and shops, as well as part of Kloof Nek Road, one of South Africa’s oldest and steepest.

The hotel is just 30 minutes from the Cape Town international airport. Cape Town itself is the oldest and second largest city in the country and hosts the Parliament of South Africa. It’s a popular destination for international tourists due to its mild climate, natural setting and well-developed infrastructure. Ideal for hikers, Table Mountain and Signal Hill make for great drives or walks to impressive views of the City Bowl. Garden Double Room

The airy and light Garden Double Room, with its own private garden, makes for a perfect restful retreat surrounded by the lush flora of the hotel. This breezy and pristine suite is awe-inspiring, with its large windows flooding the 38sqm room with light and perfectly framing the sea views outside, that can be seen even closer from the private terrace. An extra long king-size bed fitted with 100% pure linen sheets is waiting to embrace you at the end of the day, making for a peaceful night’s sleep to the soundtrack of the waves lapping against the shore. The air-conditioning and heating, including underfloor heating in the bathroom, makes for a comfortable stay whatever the weather.

The en-suite bathroom with its decadently deep bath and twin vanities is refreshing and stocked with amenities. The private terrace is perfect to sunbathe or enjoy drinks from the personal bar on, or if guests tire of watching the waves from the trendy armchairs inside, there’s the satellite TV and free Wi-Fi.

Penthouse Master Suite

Sea Five’s penthouse suite is 110sqm of opulence, with its stunning interior harmoniously complimenting the breath-taking panoramic views of Camps Bay and the Table Mountain range. Guests are spoilt for choice of lookout points, with 4 terraces to observe some of South Africa’s finest natural beauty from. Sleeping 4 guests, the penthouse has a majestic extra long king-size bed and two singles, all adorned with smooth 100% pure linen sheets.

The two en-suite bathrooms are underfloor-heated, and the free-standing spa bath adds another element of indulgence to the already lavish suite. Two 52″ plasma satellite TVs are ready to entertain you, and the suite’s private lounge and dining areas make for an exquisite place to recline in front of the floor-to-ceiling glass doors leading out onto the sea-facing terrace.

To elevate evenings of basking in the scenery, the private bar is there to help commemorate the experience. Naturally, there is also air-conditioning, heating and free Wi-Fi throughout the penthouse.

The full gourmet breakfast included with your stay consists of a cold buffet of delicious freshly baked bread and pastries, fresh fruit, juices and “homespun specialities” from the restaurant’s chefs, in addition to the à la carte menu of cooked options.

On request, light meals and drinks can be served, including fresh fruit cocktails or wines sourced from the famous Cape Winelands vineyard. Children under the age of 8 are not permitted at Sea Five Boutique Hotel, unless the entire hotel is booked for a group. Children from 12 years are considered adults and will have to take their own room at the applicable rate; children between ages 8 and 11 may share with their parents in the Mountain Junior or Penthouse Master Suites.
