Chobe’s dry season starts at the end of April and lasts until October. At this time of year, large numbers of game flock to the river and waterholes as other water sources begin to dry up.
The increase in game also lures more predators who use the dry grass as cover before setting off on dramatic hunts. The green season spans from November to April and brings amazing bird viewing opportunities as many species migrate to Chobe River and the Okavango Delta. Guests can expect to see the colourful carmine bee-eaters as well as large numbers of storks and herons.

Or challenge yourself by searching for the fierce tigerfish, which is most commonly found in October and November. Fishing is done on a catch-and-release basis.

Chobe Safari Lodge is an Under One Botswana Sky safari camp. Under One Botswana Sky has been running a number of initiatives that help support local people. An example of this how they worked with the Tebelopele Testing Center to provide HIV/Aids testing and counselling for all 71 of their staff members.
Under One Botswana Sky have also been supporting the Kachikau Special Unit, aiding children with disabilities to get an education. Their support has included the donation of wheelchairs, which has transformed the lives of the children who needed them, as well as other equipment to assist the children and their teachers and caregivers, and an annual Christmas party for the children.
This project also aims to dispel the stigma attached to the mentally and physically disabled youth within the Chobe District.
Under One Botswana Sky have held boat cruises to give children a fun experience that celebrates the local landscape. One of these cruises was for 72 of the children from the Red Cross, and most of them had never been on the river before. The children were given snacks, refreshments and a chance to appreciate the Chobe River.
Under One Botswana Sky held another boat cruise for 25 disabled children from the Kachikau Primary Special Care Unit, giving the children and their carers the opportunity to enjoy a fun day out on the river.
Children of all ages are welcome at Chobe Safari Lodge.
