The dry season is June to October. There is little to no rainfall at this time of year and shorter grasses means game viewing is outstanding, as wildlife congregates at places of water to keep cool. The wet, green season is from November to May. There is more rainfall during this season, with the heaviest falling in April and May and short rains in November.

January and February are one of the best times to go to experience a quieter safari; the grasslands are luscious and the view of Mount Kilimanjaro is the clearest at this time of year. Warm jackets for cool evenings and mornings are advised, whilst for the rest of the day loose, lightweight clothing will be the most comfortable.
