Mallín Colorado Ecolodge

The Mallín Colorado lodges accommodates its guests in a variety of cabins, all of which have gorgeous views overlooking the Carrera Lake. The hotel can hold up to 32 guests. The 4 rustic cabins are built using local sustainable  materials and native woods. They are all elegantly equipped and exist in harmony with the natural habitat in which they are situated. Casa Lenga has 6 rooms surrounded by a well-kept park of native trees, with excellent views of the lake from every direction.

There is a restaurant serving regional and international dishes, and a buffet breakfast which is served daily. Also, guests will experience delicious dishes which are all made by the owner which gives you a unique and personal experience.

There is a range of activities and experiences for guests to enjoy which make the most of the local adventure, culture, and nature. Whether you wish to partake in ice hikes, a city tour, cooking experience or explore the nearby Patagonia parks, there is a wide range of varied activities to enjoy.

Mallín Colorado have been creating a paradise in Mallin Colorado for 25 years. The hotel have used  sustainability practices from the beginning to preserve nature and its local culture; they have maintained it with multiple sustainable actions.

Caring for every tree around buildings has meant that each cabin has been built trying to preserve every tree around it, even if it made construction and architecture more difficult. In recent years they have started a reforestation project with approximately 500 new native trees planted on their property and guests are offered the possibility to reforest with Mallin Colorado during their stay, contributing to their sustainability.

Reusing the native wood tops and treating them one by one as a piece of art for the cabins was a fantastic idea to see in the sawmills that could be used as interior and exterior wall decorations. A sustainable way of building. Today the cabins look rustic and beautiful, in perfect combination with their natural surroundings. Mallin Colorado have also taken advantage of infinite materials that the place gives them to build lamps, night tables, tables and floors which are made out of native wood from waste or wood found on the nearby beaches.

It took a while to get closer to the local community, since Mallin Colorado were new. After several years, they have a very close relationship with local communities. Mallin Colorado collect a large number of experiences together with the elderly,schools, the artisans, the rural gauchos and former families, always with respect and love for their way of life.

Currently they organise tours to get to know the region, the people in the villages, they also visit their craft workshops surrounded by beautiful landscapes and share with the local community their ancient history and their vision for the future. Mallin Colorado also currently participates in the sustainable Chelenko project together with a series of small tourist companies in the area, in order to group together and promote sustainability in General Carrera Lake.
