La Casona de Matetic Hotel
Wonderfully located within wine region, La Casona At Matetic Vineyards is a renovation of traditions and identity of the 1900s. This colonial hotel holds 10 rooms as well as a swimming pool, living room, and shared space. All stays come included with a buffet breakfast, dinner and winery tour & tasting of the organic and biodynamic wines. There are also full board programs through which you can also enjoy lunch at Equilibrio Restaurant and take an outdoor excursion of choice between cycling, horseback riding, hiking or van rides through the Rosario Valley.
La Casona de Matetic Vineyards
The Matetic region is one of Chile’s most remarkable wine estates. It’s a big, hilly 16 000 hectare property, mostly consists of eucalyptus and pine woods, however, it has three main agricultural products: sheep, blueberries and wine. If you are a wine lover, then this region is for you with its beautiful vineyards and landscapes. The Matetic family are of Croatian origin and came to Chile 100 years ago. They began wine produce in Patagonia, at the southern tip of the country, where they have 100 000 hectares of land used for farming.

The colonial building of La Casona de Matetic Hotel houses 10 spacious rooms, all of which come well equipped. Onsite, there is a swimming pool, an elegant, sophisticated and cozy living room with a fireplace, and other facilities which make it the perfect space for its visitors to live an authentic and unique experience.
The Equilibrio Restaurant within the hotel is the perfect place to enjoy excellent Chilean cuisine. They use exceptional local products and have their own organic garden. At the restaurant, it is believed that the secret of flavour lies in respect for the origin and handling of ingredients.
There are two restaurants at the vineyard the main one is Equilibrio, which is located by the lake and serves more formal meals, while El Emporio serves tapas-style dishes in a more relaxed setting. Both can be enjoyed on a day tour or as well as by guests staying at La Casona. The dishes are authentic chilean cuisines, using local products, from Matetic olive oil to ceviche using fresh fish from the coast and Rosario Valley lamb cooked in syrah wine followed by cheesecake using local goats cheese and syrah ice cream. There is a variety of wines available for guests, which can be paired with their dish.
The most popular activities onsite include the tours of the vineyards and tastings. Through a guided tour of the winery, or a tasting of the equilibrium and corralillo wines, guests are encouraged to truly get to know the beauty of the vineyards.
Matetic constantly monitor the vineyards by promoting the growth of the native flora in the biological system. Therefore, biodiversity allows Matietic to continue their organic and biodynamic practices. Biological–dynamic agriculture promotes the biodiversity of the flora and fauna, protecting the health of the agriculturists and the consumers. Matetic uses biodynamic preparations that are made based on natural ingredients such as quartz and medicinal herbs, which are used to promote the vital processes in the vineyard and improve the quality of the compost.
