Castro, Chileo has a rich history. The palafitos are present in the edges of lakes, ponds, rivers, wetlands of the sea of all the continents, although they predominate in Asia and South America. These constructions served to protect themselves from hostile animals and neighbours. The origin in Chiloe is associated with the maritime history of native peoples such as the chono (sea nomads) and the huilliche (earth nomads), that settled in the coast land of Chiloe.

The main idea of this trip is to get to see Chiloé National Park from a different view. Leaving from the Hotel in Castro on the transfer you will cross the town of Huillinco and around Huillinco and Cucao lakesides. Once in Cucao, you will ride horses through the dunes on the pacific beach. After the horseback ride, you will visit the premises of the park where you will enjoy a small picnic and then take a walk along the Tepual trail, and contemplate the native vegetation. Finishing the trekking you will head back on the transfer to the hotel in Castro. Included in this trip are the following: transfers, horse, equipment such as ponchos/rain coats, first aid kit, national park ticket and a qualified guide.

Punta Pirulil is situated south from Chiloé National Park, it is a place mainly inhabited by people of the area. Your adventure begins in Cucao, you firstly take south to Rahue where you will visit a local couple, great fossil gatherers with in depth knowledge of these remote surroundings. After, you will go to Punta Pirulil adventuring towards the “Muelle de las Almas” (Pier of Souls), which is the final mystic destination. The story tells that after you die, your soul goes to this Pier and asks for “balseo” (a boat ride) that is when a white sailed wooden boat approaches with a long bearded boatman standing. He will ask for two coins in exchange of carrying your soul to the afterlife. This is you break spot where you can also contemplate the majestic Pacific Ocean and the incredible bird wildlife that the region has to offer. Necessary equipment for this trip are essential, those are the following: adequate hiking boots, sun protection (i.e. hats, sun cream, water). Entrance tickets, a picnic, tour guide, transfers and first aid kit is included in this adventurous trip.
