Hotel Centro de Ocio Chiloe

Located in the heart of the main Island of Chiloé, around 12 miles from the city of Castro lies OCIO Territorial. With 11 isolated rooms, over 800 meters of trails of native forest that lead to the beach, in which there is also a pier for embarking and go all over the fjord of Castro, all this on a captivating rural area that invites you to immerse yourself on the local traditions, identity, heritage and lifestyle of Chiloé.

OCIO Territorial

Few places in Chile can offer the variety of landscapes, wildlife, vegetation, history, food and culture as the island of Chiloe. It is the perfect getaway and destination for anyone searching to get off the beaten track, learn about Chilean culture and it’s people, see dramatic coastal scenery and be charmed by the wooden houses; explore chilean culture.The population of Chiloe, a fusion of indigenous Mapuche, colonial Spanish and German immigrants from the 1850’s, has led to a curious combination of foods, folkloric tales and music. As an island cut off from the rest of Chile, life on the island is still very traditional and slow paced, the food is home-grown and the fish freshly caught. Chiloe Island offers some great day hikes, beautiful landscape and sea/beach views.

All of the 11 suites which make up OCIO Territorial Hotel have been inspired by nature and the traditional construction of Chiloé. They are unique designs that provide an intimate and quiet space that invites guests to connect with nature. Decorated with local materials, inside and outside of larch tiles, the rooms were built without disrupting nature and its space. The design aims to  highlight the essence of the natural and rural environment in which the hotel is located. Some rooms benefit from private balconies, perfect to enjoy the panoramic view of the Fjord and the City of Castro. Facilities include an onsite restaurant, the Matriarca Restaurant, which served wonderful cuisine daily, and also the Spa Alma, which is a wonderful place to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the hotel and its surroundings.

Standard Wing Suite

There are six exterior rooms (40m²) with a terrace, all rooms  have an infrastructure that from height they look like a bird’s wing, with large windows facing the beautiful myrtle forest; the Fjord and city of Castro. All six rooms can accommodate 2 – 3 guests and comes with one super king – size bed and one sofa bed.

Superior Suite

Wind, Earth and Forest are three rooms (60m²) inspired by the elements of nature, it is the theme of the architecture and decoration of these independent suites. These rooms can accommodate two guests and include one super king size bed and one sofa bed. Also, all rooms offer a terrace with panoramic views of the Castro Fjord, surrounded by the myrtle forest. They have heating, coffee makers, wifi, cytophone and bath with whirlpool tub.

Standard Center Suite

Two rooms (30m²) inside central hotel building, inspired by the theme of the forest, located in the central building, offer greater proximity to the restaurant, bar and fireplace area. Oriented to the west, with an incredible view of the Fjord and the city of Castro, it has large windows, which invite you to contemplate landscapes, sunsets and enjoy your leisure time.These rooms can accommodate two guests, offer one super king size bed, one bed sofa, private bathroom with whirlpool tub, wifi, cytophone, safe and heating.

Chilote Lodge

This gorgeous and traditional old Chiloe house was restored by the owners of this place, it was remodeled and equipped with all the necessary comforts to receive groups between 6 to 11 people. It has 200 square meters and a large terrace overlooking the Fjord and the City of Castro. The lodge comes with common areas, heating, coffee maker, sofa bed, queen beds, safe and a private terrace. Chiloe lodge is also very close to the farm sector and trails, making them easily accessible for guests.

Matriarca Restaurant

Matriarca Restaurant is inspired by the “Matriarchs”, meaning women who by their age, wisdom and knowledge possess authority and are the most respected in a large family or community. Dishes are devoted to their traditions, in ancient recipes full of love and magic, enchanting and surprising visitors. A fusion of culture and passion, a mixture of flavours and smells where the protagonist is Chiloé, and where different products from the area such as fish, shellfish, seaweed, potatoes and fruits of our forest are intertwined to conjure the perfect dish.

The restaurant offers a first level gastronomy, in an environment surrounded by nature that allows an incredible disconnection and the spectacular quality of service. The menu has been hand selected by the chef with products that are locally sourced and kept to a high quality of standard. Also, the restaurant offers its guests buffet breakfast, lunch, cafeteria, dinner and bar service.
