Tiananmen Square

Tiananmen Square is one of the largest public squares in the world, located in Beijing and was originally built in 1651. Covering an area of 100 acres, each flagstone within the square is numbered to make it easier for the assembly of parades and visitors can come here to observe the Monument to the People’s Heroes in the centre of the square or explore the National Museum of China on the east side. There is also the Mao Zedong Memorial Hall which holds the body of Mao Zedong that visitors can looks at or venture to the western side of the square to see the Great Hall of the People which the site of annual meetings of the National People’s Congress and also contains a meeting hall with more than 10 000 seats.

Fragrant Hills Park

Located in the west side of Beijing, Fragrant Hills Park covers an area of 180 hectares and has a long history and rich cultural heritage. This park is made up of hills and forests with natural sceneries and cultural relics that visitors can explore as well as the Xianglu Peak, the highest peak in the park. The red smoke tree leaves are the most spectacular natural scenery within the park which turn into fiery red leaves that blanket the mountain during Autumn and visitors can ride the cable cars to take in the breath taking views. There are two main routes that visitors can take to explore the park which are the North route and the South route; the North route will take you to the Spectacles Lake, Study of Reading Heart, and Bright Temple. The South route will take you the Tranquillity Green Lake, Shuangquing Villa, Fragrant Temple, and Xianglu Peak.

Beijing Aquarium

Located in the Beijing Zoo, the Beijing Aquarium is the largest and most advanced inland aquarium in China which covers an area of 30 acres and is designed in a conch shape with its main colours as orange and blue: these colours symbolise the mysterious vast sea and endless vitality of marine life. There are seven halls in the aquarium which are Rainforest Wonder, Bering Strait, Whale and Dolphin Bay, Chinese Sturgeon Hall, Seabed Travel, Feel Pool, and Ocean Theatre. Visitors can observe an abundant of marine life including over 100 species of rainforest fish and fresh water fish, sharks, whales, dolphins, sea lions, sea stars, and watch the animals perform tricks in the Ocean Theatre.
