Longji Rice Terraces resembles a dragon’s scales and the mountain range resembles the backbone of a dragon which is the reason for its other name, Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces. The terraces are located within Longsheng County, the construction of which began in the Yuan Dynasty, and covers a total area of 66 square kilometres. There are two viewing areas from which visitors can venture to which are the Ping’an Zhuang Village Terraced Fields and the Jinkeng Terraced Fields: Zhuang and Yao Minority people have been living within these areas for hundreds of years. Visitors can also learn the unique customs in the Longsheng Rice Terraces as well as exploring the restaurants within the Dazhai Village close to the rice terraces for local delicacies.
Guests can take part in a tour which will take you across the Jiangnan landscapes in Guiling where you will see Li River, Elephant Trunk Hill, Reed Flute Cave, Seven Star Park and Fubo Hill. This tour lasts for 6 days with the first three taking you to Guilin and the final three to Beihai; in Guilin you will have the opportunity to journey along the Li River on a cruise ship, surrounded by the natural scenery of the mountains, green fields, farms and villages. Guests will also visit Elephant Trunk Hill which resembles the shapes of an elephant, the Reed Flute Cave known as the Palace of Natural Arts, and stroll through the Seven Star Park. In Beihai you will explore the Silver Beach with fine and white sand, clean and warm water as well as exploring Weizhou Island to which you will arrive on a sea cruise to see the Mazhu Temple and the holy springs.
Take part in the 10 day tour to visit Guiyang, Kaili, Xijiang, Rongjiang, Zhaoxing, and Sanjiang. In Guiying you will begin the tour at Huangguoshu Waterfall, one of the largest waterfalls in China at a height of 67 metres and a cave that lies behind the main fall. You will also explore Tunbao Village, one of the ancient Tun-Bao settlements that was built during the reign of Emperor Hongwu. The tour will take you to Xijiang Miao Folk Museum before heading to Paika Miao Village to witness Lusheng making presentation. A trip to the local minority market is also included in the tour to witness the culture and purchase some items to take home with you after which you will visit Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge.
