Botswana can be visited all year round but the peak game viewing time is during the dry winter months between June and October when thinner vegetation makes it easier to see the animals. From June to August the Okavango Delta is in flood so the waterways and channels of this renowned wildlife haven can be enjoyed by mokoro canoe, which gives guests a traditional experience of the delta. Barge cruises at Belmond Eagle Island Lodge is available during the wet season from May to October.
